CFB Mourns the Loss of Mayor David N. Dinkins

Chair of the NYC Campaign Finance Board Frederick Schaffer issued the following statement in response to the passing of Mayor David N. Dinkins:

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mayor David Dinkins, New York City’s first and only Black mayor. A trailblazer throughout his career, Mayor Dinkins was the first mayor elected to office as a participant in the city's campaign finance program. We will miss his calming touch in our public life and celebrate the man who dedicated his life to unifying the racial, ethnic, and religious ‘gorgeous mosaic’ of New York City."
